About Shresta

Shresta has been learning Carnatic Music for the past 4 years under the guidance of Smt. Lalitha Rampalli.

Shresta has been learning keerthanas under the guidance of Sri. Varanasi Venkateshwara Sharma (of Chaitanya Brothers)

Shresta has been learning to chant various slokas under the guidance and blessings of Sri. Dr. Raghavendra Sharma (Director of VISVAS Institute).

Shresta has recently started to learn the telugu Bhagavatam poems penned by Sri. Bammera Potana under the training Sri. Parthasarathi Nemani.

Shresta has performed for various events to raise funds for social causes organized by TANA (Telugu Association of North America), GWTCS (Greater Washington Telugu Cultural Sangam), CATS (Capitol Area Telugu Society), Manakosam, Sangeetalhari Children Music Festival, Great Composers Day (Vedic Temple of VA) and Swaravedika. She also participates in Ghosti gaanams at various local temples.

Shresta has competed and won at various singing competitions including but not limited to Vaggeyakara Vaibhavam (SiliconAndhra), Jhummandi Naadam (American Telugu Association), Mother's Day (TANA), Annual Indian Music and Dance Competition (Academy of Indian Music and Fine Arts-AIMFA), Vibha Dream Voice (Vibha International), SSVT Annual Music Competition (Maryland).

Shresta also learns Telugu from Manabadi (SiliconAndhra) and has recently graduated from Prakasam grade.
